Astra Dunina's main purpose was to explore the surface of Duna and see if it would be a good possible secondary homeworld.
After indications of Duna having life came out, N.S.P. decided to launch an Unmanned spacecraft to take pictures and explore the Ice caps which hold precious water. The spaceprobe, unlike the Astra Evadia one, was a success!
After indications of Duna having life came out, N.S.P. decided to create a rocket that would be capable of launching Kerbals to Duna. Their first mission was to test this rocket, and the results were as expected.
Now that a capable spacecraft was developed, N.S.P. decided to send 2 brave Kerbals to flyby Duna to scope the area out. Along the way, Kerbals noticed that solar radiation was able to disrupt communications, but radiation never affected the green soldiers.
Now that N.S.P. was able to send their Kerbalnauts far from home to Duna, they decided to attempt a landing on Duna. Everything went nominal, and a successful touchdown was secured. Along with this, the Kerbals went roving around on the surface and found many samples! This was the first time any kerbal has stepped on another planet, and it marked a shift in what was possible.
Following the footsteps of Astra Duninia 4, N.S.P. decided to set up a satellite in orbit of Duna to monitor the planet to mark spots of interest for a Duna colony.
