Operation F.O.S.S.I.L.

( Freedom of Several States In Libra )

Operation F.O.S.S.I.L. was created in preparation for a Cramonian Assault on Kerbelia and her Allies as a response to Kerbelia's Cramonian Isolation Order enacted by President Merfurt. F.O.S.S.I.L. comprised of plans for liberation of all of the break-away states of Cramonia incase all of them wanted to participate in acts of terrorism. However, only the plan for Municipal of Cramonia was enacted, and the two others for Nuntral and Free Cramonia remain under Heavy Classification. This article only talks about the war in the Municipal of Cramonia, and not the actual strategies planned.

The Beginning: Terrorism

On January 15th of 2033, Three months after Merfurt signed his Isolation of Cramonia Order, the Municipal of Cramonia launched terrorist attacks all across Kerbelia and her allies as a form of retribution. Some major points of interest were: The Capital Buidling ( it was intercepted ), N.S.P. Site, Kerbal Mechanical Laboratory's Site 52, Independence Tower in Kermani, Don Kerman National Peace Park ( Was intercepted ), Kunmean Capital Building, I.K.E. Industries Launch Complex, Blueford City, and the Hudson Canal that marked the border of Ikreland and Leeland. All of these landmarks proved to be a vital sign of nationality to all nations, and the Terrorists only wanted to attack them to make everyone feel weakened. A major example of this is Mogmetropolis in Laklar, they caused three entire buildings to fall down with their explosives that passed customs on the developing Nation. Efforts to root out these issues has been raised again, with the last time being the Red Revolution. However, the terrorist attacks did the opposite of making everyone feel weak: it made everyone have resentment for the terrorists. Thus, the Western Pact, comprising of Laklar, Kerbelia, Ikreland, and Leeland officially declared war against the Municipal of Cramonia for the acts of terrorism.

A New World Effort

After the first round of attacks, Kerbelia was aware of what was going on, and mobilized its defensive forces that were present around the world. Whenever a new terrorist volley came, they repelled them and put them under custody for interrogation. One of the Terrorists came clean and said they were using relatives within the allied nations to smuggle in explosives to perform these deadly acts of terrorism. So, the National Customs for Immigration has revoked all the Visa's of Cramonians, and the Department of National Defense has implemented a system of checks required on new Immigrants from every country. Along with this, an attack on one is considered an attack on all according to Article 5 of the Western Pact Alliance, so Kerbelia invoked this and the entire Western World declared war on the Municipal of Cramonia.

In Kerbelia's Declaration, Merfurt Kerman, the President of Kerbelia, gave a speech regarding this moment.

"To my dear Kerbelians,

Today we have faced a situation like no other. Thousands of Kerbelians have been the victim of a world wide tragedy due to the cruelty of Cramonians. It was supposedly done to tell Kerbelia that we would have to stand down in face of a tragic disaster, but we will not stand down. My fellow Kerbelians, I campaigned my presidency for you to ensure that we would continue our Kerbelian First Policies, and not let anyone boss us around. Today, we've experienced a test by the Cramonians, which has affected ten thousand of our most beloved Kerbelians. For the sake of our future, and for the loved ones that we lost, we will solve the issue of terrorism once and for all, which is why today, January 15th, Kerbelia and her allies have declared war against the Municipal of Cramonia to root out all evil in the area. We will go in with Kerbelians, and leave with all. We will not suffer any longer to outside forces thinking we can get bossed around. I promise to you all, that this will never happen again. May god bless you all, Godspeed."

Shortly after this, Kerbelia launched missile volleys with the help of N.S.P. satellites at targets of interests, such as Anti-Air sites to allow for bombers to come in and destroy Cramonian equipment.

The Beginning of the End

In warfare, the first hour is most important, and it is the determining factor of who is to win.

Kerbelia used this fact to their advantage and took out critical supply depos marked by their Satellites that are placed in a Geostationary Orbit around Kerbin. This means they always are looking on Cramonia. After the first volley of missiles (non nuclear) were sent to Cramonia, bombers and long range strike aircraft were deployed to finish rooting out strong outposts and defensive lines. After the first five ours, the air war was won. Naval strike groups came in as a second round of air assault to finish out the rest of the remaining resistance, and even old Syracusan Ships captured by the Cramonians were swiftly destroyed. Many old Syracusan equipment has been captured and taken back to Kerbelia for holding to see if Syracuse wants to buy it all back, as Kerbelia has no interest in their equipment.

After the Air and Naval threater was cleared, it was time for a full scale invasion via ground forces and helicopters.

The Day Long Drive

After Cramonian resistance was bombed out of existence, the only thing that made this war take long was the drive across the vast country side. Kerbelia and her allies quickly blitzed through the remaining ground forces that still had old Syracusan captured tanks. The typical tank battle went like this:

Kerbelian tanks with Thermals spotted the old Syracusan Tanks that didn't have Thermals first. Then, the Helicopter detachment sent Air to Ground missiles at them, causing their ammunition to cook off and explode. Then, infantry was handled by Light AFV's that were brought along with the heavy armor detachment.

After many tank battles and encounters through the rolling plains of Cramonia, the Capital City of Cramonia was surrounded and the United Kerbelian Navy made a landing and secured the city. After this, they advanced along the coast, with many Naval landings occuring to force Cramonia back into their flat plain landscape. One issue that Kerbelia faced, though, was fighting in the mountains. This has always been an issue, as it is what caused a stalemate in the Orange War. However, Kerbelia decided to not push the mountains, but instead launch artilery and bomb the people on them out. Eventually, an helicopter assault was made, and Kerbelian special forces roped down from the copters and took the mountains for Kerbelia. Since Mount Kerman is in the region ( the largest mountain on Kerbin, ) it was avoided until high altitude planes were able to bomb the Cramonians out of there. It did eventually happen, but it occurred at the later parts of the war.

With all major cities captured under Allied control, the Allies pushed East towards Nuntral State to meet up with Syracusan forces who had also joined into the conflict as a result of an agreement Merfurt and Sambro made.

Eventually, the two lines met up, and the rest of resistance was crushed on the second day of the war.

A Quick Resolution

Following the meetup of the two lines, the rest of Cramonian resistance was crushed by the end of the second day. With this, the Western Allies had done what once seemed impossible: a quick, decisive victory in a war against terrorism. For four years, Syracuse had been trying to weed out resistance within this region, but they failed primarily because they lacked the resources and support to launch a large scale war against Municipal. However, whenever support rose and the odds became good, they were able to do what they planned to do four years ago with the help of the Western World. Now that the war had ended, a total casualty number had been released to the public. This includes the entire length of the Crisis for all nations, dating back four years ago:

National Republic of Syracuse - 375

United States of Kerbelia - 12

Federal Republic of Leeland - 9

Republic of Ikreland - 8

Federal Republic of Laklar - 5

With the end of the war, the Municipal of Cramonia would be occupied soley by the United States of Kerbelia.

Outlook For The Future

With the Terrorist government overthrown, Kerbelia put in place a new government of Mild Conservatism similar to Seedun Conservatism. The leader of Cramonia is William Kerman, a Native Cramonian who fled the country to practice government in Kerbelia in the hopes that he could one day go back to lead the nation he so very loves. Furthermore, he is very popular in the Cramonian region, as he tried campaigning against Smartt Kerman years ago before he was taken from power. Along with this, Free Cramonia voted to join the newly formed state of United Cramonia, putting the entire region closer to unification just as it was before Syracuse broke apart the empire. Finally, Nuntral State was officially recognized by the United States of Kerbelia as an independent country from Cramonia, but there talks as to unification between the two parties of United Cramonia and Nuntral State. As of the end of the war, the Western World has been rebuilding the nation to give it a bright future and allow it to become one of the Major Western World Powers. Finally, Cramonia has been accepted into the Western Pact Alliance.
