Before the election of Obama Kerman, the entire world was hit by a financial crisis that resulted in both Kerbelia and Ikreland facing civil unrest for how their leaders dealt with it. However, Obama's response to this Crisis eventually led to Syracusan Nationals declaring independence to break free from the economic and policitical downturn of the West.
During the turn of the millennia, the two nation's of Kerbin were prospering economically and developmentally as the new space age was finally becoming more and more accessible to more than just N.S.P. and I.K.E. Industries. This caused people to get so wealthy, that they started to not care about how they spent money. So, Kerbelia started to rapidly pour money into random regions that had no real purpose for development, such as the Eastern Deserts of Syracuse. This eventually led to Kerbelia taking hits to its wallet due to the difficulty and expensiveness of developing such a region. However, it eventually got this done, but it left Kerbelia out of spare change for other projects. And, when many people feared that Kerbelia would take people's money and exchange it for government bonds, people started withdrawing their money from banks rapidly. Now that the banks were dry and Kerbelia was out of money, Ikreland offered to loan money to Kerbelia to get them out of their situation since they were allied since Ikreland's formation back in the 1800 hundreds. Sadly though, this didn't work and Ikreland lost a lot of money. This money lent to Kerbelia caused inflation rates to soar through the roof, leading to a major financial depression that hit the entire world. Presidential Candidate Obama Kerman was elected president of Kerbelia, and he promised to not fund expensive Syracuan Development projects and to turn the nation around.
Now that the world was struck by a financial disaster, Kerbelia quickly decided to take back all of the things it built in it's largest state of Syracuse to hopefully gain some valuable resources to balance all the horrible decisions that went down. However, the governor of Syracuse, Tejas Kerman, was very unpleased by this, and said that "They cant just build up our economy than take it away from us! Where's our constitutional rights in that?" Due to his distaste, he filed an issue with the Supreme Court of Kerbelia over their unconstitutional withdraw of industry from Syracuse. However, the Supreme Court ruled against the State of Syracuse stating, "It is all our patriotic duty to give ourselves up for the better of our nation rather than a small portion of the populous. The actions taken by the Federal Government are vital to the success of our nation and it's future. You will be re-payed later, but you must comply."
Governor Tejas was not happy with this, and issued an Executive Governor order to deny the Federal Government to take his industry. This eventually led to tensions rising, and Tejas eventually pulled his National Guard to defend his newly built city of "Old Syracuse" on January 15th of 2005.
Governor Tejas's decision to mobilize the National Guard of Syracuse against the Kerbelian National Guard is what led to the start of a very long, bloody war. Many historians believe that it was Syracuse's fault that we war began because Tejas defied the Federal Government, even after being promised that they would be reimbursed. However, Tejas's troops were the first to fire upon the Kerbelian Nation Guard, who at the time didn't expect a single sign of resistance and were not carrying any weapons. This led to all of the Kerbelian National Guardsmen to die in a massacre known as Bloody Syracuse. After the Syracusans performed these evil acts, they pushed further out to capture an actual Kerbelian Army base, but they failed and were pushed back as far as the edge of Old Syracuse.
Now that an actual force was fighting an actual force, Kerbelia blitzed through the Syracusan line and sent strike aircraft to bomb convoys of Syracusan supply line making their way into the city. The supply lines were always made up of native Syracusan Civilians trying to help their soldiers in the war, and this is why Syracuse said that Kerbelia killed more civilians than Military men: Because they were helping the Syracusan offensive.
After destroying Syracuse logistics, rocket volleys rained down on the city of Old Syracuse which eventually led to all Syracuan Fighters getting demolished, and the Kerbelians recaptured the city and started to take it down. At the time, nobody thought the two were at war, and this was just a rouge force that was overly nationalistic to their State. However, it soon proved to be anything but that.
After word of Old Syracuse reached Tejas, he officially declared independence from the United States of Kerbelia, and declared war on them for the reason of innocent civilian slaughter. ( Once again, this is false. The civilians were as involved as the army by giving the soldiers supplies. ) Ikreland, a popular ally to Kerbelia, joined in on the side of Kerbelia to help its mother country. Thus, the Orange war of 2005 Began, and President Obama Kerman stated, "These separatists will not be the reason why our democracy will fail. We will not allow this to happen."
After Kerbelia's victory in the Battle of Old Syracuse, the newly formed Nationalist Republic of Syracuse elected Tejas as the sole leader in charge of the country, making him the provisional government. With this, he ordered his "No Step Back" policy, and that all of the 50 million civilians living in Syracuse at that time to take up arms against the tyrant of Kerbelia. However, many of them were not sided with him, and they opted to flee to the safe country of Kerbelia. About 20 million did so, but they would eventually get very angry with Kerbelia later in the war and start formulating plans for the Red Revolution of 2024. Still though, 30 million Syracuse civilians joined into the battle, with 28 million being mainly civilians that were secretly supplying Syracusan Militants. Two million were actual National Guardsmen that were loyal to Syracuse.
For the next 8 years, a long bloody war would be fought, with Obama Kerman leading the Kerbelian offensive and Tejas leading Syracuse. During the war, Syracuse claimed the Kerbelia kept targeting civilian areas for the sole purpose of killing civilians. However, as stated before, this was not true. They were helping Syracusan forces by giving them supplies such as smuggled munitions and food. The Kerbelian's doctrine of denying supply to the enemy would eventually lead to the death of 5 million loyalists that helped their cause. Kerbelia saw the suppliers as military due to what they were doing, and Kerbelia even called Syracuse out for their cruelty on making innocent civilians take the brunt of the Kerbelian assault instead of their army. In fact, Obama Kerman went to the previously liberated city of Old Syracuse and gave speech there. He called the opposition "Cowards." Within months, Kerbelia reached the Syracusan Capital, but couldnt enter due to the rough terrain surrounding on all sides. However, they were able to capture all the military targets around the city, and it led to the "Siege of Syracuse," which eventually led to the death of 1.5 million Syracusan Militants. But, fire playing with fire only led to a bigger one, and the Syracusans held out until they could push the Kerbelians into a valley and force them to retreat. This push by Syracuse would cause Kerbelia to fallback to another mountain line, and the two would have skirmishes all around Syracuse for another 7 years until everyone was tired of the bloody war.
Following the 8 previous bloody years, Obama Kerman was at the end of his presidency, and had to leave in favor of Krump Kerman. Throughout Krumpt's campaign, he stated he would end the War in Syracuse because he wanted the people to stop dying, and he believed Syracuse as a future ally would be better than a State due to it having the most economic issues in all of Kerbelia. So, when Krump was elected, Obama Kerman left office and retired in secrecy to where no Syracusan could find him. Krump signed an executive order for a cease fire on January 15th of 2013, to which Tejas surprisingly agreed with. Now, the two met on the U.K.N. Kermani to discuss terms of peace. At first, Tejas was very clear that he wanted more than he had, and Krump did the same by pushing for too much land and resources. However, the two agreed to form a Northern border at Konov, with Kerbelia keeping control of the city. Furthermore, Kerbelia would still have Oil Rights in Syracuse until 2024 in exchange for a temporary alliance between the two nations. Finally, the world was a peace, and there was no more Deaths. The total of Deaths were as follows:
Syracuse: 6.5 Million Deaths
-Military: 1.5 Million
-Loyalist: 5 Million
Kerbelia: 1 Million Deaths
-Military: 1 Million
The Orange War of 2005 will forever be one to remember as Kerbelia was able to stay united through turmoil of the Economic Financial Crisis of 2005. It has also taught us one thing: Do not try to do something unconstitutional, as it may lead to many more unconstitutional deeds that forever change the world for the better or worse. However, there were some positives to this war:
Syracuse was able to lead how it wanted,
The Space Race between Leviathan and N.S.P. kicked off.
Many other nations sprouted out around the world.
Still though, these benefits will never outweigh the deaths of many Kermans, and we should always remember this War as something that should have been avoided instead of something to be proud of nationalistically. May God Rest every poor soul that died during this conflict, and may we hope that one like it never happens again.
