Leeland, Properly known as the Republic of Leeland, is home to roughly 930 million kerbals making it the third largest nation in populous, and is located in the direct center of Kerbin from a political map. It has a majority of indigenous people, with having a second strong Kerbelian Heritage. Furthermore, it is hardly behind of Syracuse in land, making it the second largest country on Kerbin. It is considered to be a Sub-World Country, but is quickly gaining the status of a World Country.
History
Leeland was formed right after the Orange War as a country aspiring for freedom and international commerce. For a long time, it was able to sustain this, but Sambro, the president of Syracuse, issued an illegal invasion of Leeland and her territories, which eventually ended in a blood bath mainly for the Syracusian forces. After while, a cease fire was issued, and the Treaty of Leeland was signed, marking the end of conflict. It shaped Leeland's borders a bit back, but it still retained its independence, and it decided to be a Western-World allied country for the future.
GeoPolitcal Stance
As of recently, Leeland has been allied to the Western World, specifically Kerbelia. Leeland is also the leader of the Vorzun state, an international body of land where meetings and confrences occur. Furthermore, they have stopped all trade with Syracuse, and there are still people fighting within the occupied territories of their Eastern Provinces to hopefully be free one day. Perhaps they will.
Advancements
Leeland has led the global movement of peace around the world, as it has shown how a lack of peace can be very deadly and bad to those who live through a time of conflict. Also, Leeland's huge workforce has pushed it onto the 4th spot of the global economy, making it just behind Ikreland in Gross Deomestic Product, at 4th, and it ranks 4rd in GDP per capita.
