Syracuse, properly known as the Syracusian National Republic, is considered a World-Country. Syracuse is the 3rd oldest nation, being formed after the Orange War. It is located East of Leeland. and West of Kerbelia. It is the 2nd largest country on Kerbin in populous, being 1.2 billion Kerbals. It is the largest nation, hardly ahead the Republic of Leeland
History
Syracuse was formed following the events of the Orange War, and was marked as the 3rd oldest nation on Kerbin. As every new nation, it has pushed it's civilians far to catch up with the progress made by Kerbelia, and it has gotten far. Syracuse was once a state of Kerbelia, known as Syracelia, but it left the nation due to the unwanted tariffs imposed by Obama Kerman, along with increased taxes for Kerbal Welfare. Eventually, Kerbelia slowly withdrew from Syracuse, as they wanted freedom throughout the world. Although new, they have used old Kerbelian techniques from their previous statehood to progress far in the world. However, their over-patriotism for their nation can cause them trouble, as their wills to appose Kerbelian authority have gotten the world in near misses many times before, just like the Leeland crisis.
GeoPolitcal Stance
As of recently, Syracuse has been the leader of the Eastern-World movement, which is a movement to not be impacted by decisions of the Major Powers of the Western-World, such as Kerbelia and Ikreland. However, this route makes them vulnerable, as they have to fend for themselves and their newly formed allies as conflicts occur. Still, however, Syracuse manages to maintain order within the Eastern-World, and who knows what may happen if they try to appose Kerbelia again, just as they attempted in the Invasion of Leeland, which ended after negotiations. Altough rivals, they can still find common ground through their shared heritage.
Advancements
The Syracusian National Republic has made many advancements in their fields, mainly in Aerospace, for high altitude airplanes, and Moho exploration. Furthermore, they have promoted energy production across the world, to which Kerbelia and Syracuse have worked together to safely extract these resources. Along with this, they are the 3rd nation to land on the Mun. Syracuse is Kerbelia's main competitor in Space, as they have been making much progress. Syracuse Ranks 2nd annual Gross Domestic Product, and 3rd in GDP per Capita, making it have a quite a lot of influence on the world economically.
