Project Green House:
Interplanetary Life
With the uncertainty of the Syracrusian's motives towards nukes, the United States of Kerbelia decided to populate another world just as a backup plan.
Project Green House:
Interplanetary Life
With the uncertainty of the Syracrusian's motives towards nukes, the United States of Kerbelia decided to populate another world just as a backup plan.
Project Green House 1: Aurora Outpost
The Kerbelian Government, wanting a place of refuge in time of need, decided to fund N.S.P. Corp to create a colony on a celestial body that could support life. After many decisions, they eventually ended up on Laythe, the water world of Jool. This was for many reasons, but the main one is that it has an oxygen-rich atmosphere, and is protected by Jool's magnetic field. The Colony was called "Aurora Research Station"
Project Green House 2: Satellite
Due to the frequent black-outs of the Laythe colony, N.S.P. sent an Astra Sailor to drop off a satellite in polar orbit of Laythe to provide for communication, along with sonar scanning. As a result, Laythe's crust was understood better, different sites were picked for an equatorial colony, and communications grew stronger.
Project Green House 3: Drill
Now that a Colony was established on Laythe, A drill was launched by Astra Sailor to allow for the manufacturing of items on Laythe. This would lead to the creation of a Northern Runway and Plane Hangar.
Project Green House 4: Rotocopter
The first thing that the Laythe Colony needed was a helicopter to explore the North Pole without walking. Thus, the drill station manufactured a Rotocopter to allow for transportation and exploring. This was a huge step for Kerbal kind, because items could be manufactured on Laythe.
Project Green House 5: Rover
Now that manufacturing was possible, the Colony produced a rover, similar to the one on Minmus, to allow for the exploration to find life. Furthermore, it found life in the form of a giant mushroom tree! This means that Laythe has and can support life. This mission solidified Laythe as the 2nd home.
Project Green House 6: Airfield
Aurora Research Outpost was given a Runway, Observatory, and Space Plane Hangar to allow for missions to originate from Laythe, which would allow for cheaper missions. With this, the first planes were produced on Laythe, and a scout plane was launched to find the Equatorial Site.
Project Green House 7: Celestial Shores
With Aurora Outpost being the Northern Base, N.S.P. wanted an Equatorial base for a launch complex. Thus, a C-5 "Munsy" Carried all of the components for the colony to it's location. The end result of the colony ended up being a success.
Project Green House 8: Celestial Launch Complex
Now that Celestial Shores was created, a launch complex was established to allow for launches off Laythe. With this, the Water world of Jool officially became a second world to the Kerbal Race.
Project Green House 9: First Rocket Launch
Now that Laythe was colonized, N.S.P. wanted to explore the icey moon of Vall, which was resource rich in all types of elements. Thus, they launched the first Astra Sailor from Laythe, and the mission was a success.
Project Green House 10: Below the Water
The only thing left to explore on Laythe was the ocean. With this, the Kerbelians decided to contact the Syracrusian Government to access their "Dolphin" Submarine for scientific reasons. They agreed, which started a new era of partnership. The bottom of Laythe's ocean was photographed.
