Ice Cream On Minmus?
When you look toward the equator's direction in the sky at night, you can see a faint light green dot. This is Minmus!
Minmus is the 2nd largest moon of Kerbin, and is well known for its amazing color palette of mint green and light blues. When you look at the moon with a telescope, it has a very uneven surface, with some huge lands of flats. Because of this, many think of Minmus as being an uneven scoop of Mint Ice Cream. But, is it actually?
We decided to contact our lead scientist on board the Permafrost Research center of Minmus, Bob Kerman, to see what he had to say about this. Bob Kerman explained that, "Minmus is actually not Mint Ice Cream! We've done tests on the surface, and even had some attempts to eat it to ensure it was not a type of Ice Cream. It turns out, that Minmus is actually made of mostly frozen water that is similar to the Ice Caps of Kerbin, that is for the Flats. However, the mountainy regions are made of frozen Silicon which is similar to the type found of Val, the Moon of Jool. We actually think Minmus was a result of Tylo and Val colliding back in the day, and it eventually got flung all the way to Kerbin. Still, though, we sometimes forget about these findings, and think it is Ice Cream!"
The history of Minmus is truly an interesting one, and it definitely did not originate from your garage freezer full of Ice Cream!
